A man has been jailed after pleading guilty to historical sex offences in north Staffordshire.
David East, aged 41, from north Staffordshire, was sentenced to 17 years at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court today, Friday.
East was found guilty of 15 counts including:

Two counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 13 years

Three counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 years

Eight counts of rape including four on a girl under the age of 16
Detective Inspector Adrian Scott, from the force’s Protecting Vulnerable People Department, said: “Staffordshire Police is committed to protecting children and other vulnerable members of the community. We thoroughly investigate all allegations of sexual abuse, including historic offences, and work with partners to tackle these very serious crimes in a sensitive manner. I commend the victims for coming forward and reporting these crimes.
