A man has been arrested after a car suspected of being stolen from a burglary in Four Oaks crashed in Birmingham this morning (20 March).
Traffic officers spotted a grey Audi coupe on Eachelhurst Road in Birmingham just after 4.20am. When they signalled for the car to pull over it raced away.
Officers found the vehicle a few minutes later on its side at the junction with Aston Expressway and Tyburn Road.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and is currently being treated at hospital for minor injuries following the crash.
The road was closed while the stolen car was recovered and was re-opened just before 7.30am.
Chief Inspector Kerry Blakeman, from the force’s Traffic Unit, said: “Officers spotted the vehicle acting suspiciously and decided to stop the car but it failed to stop.
“The car went out of sight for a short time and when they found it, it was on its side.
“After helping out at the crash, a report came in that the car had been stolen during a burglary in Sutton Coldfield.” The burglary happened on Willmott Road and was reported to police at 4.40am.
