A MAN has been charged with stabbings outside two Birmingham pubs after West Midlands Police officers traced him to an address in south Yorkshire.
The 26-year-old was arrested in Valley Road, Sheffield, late on Saturday night (July 13) over a fight outside the Sportsman’s Rest pub, Kingstanding, earlier that evening when one man was stabbed and another hit with a baseball bat.
Last night detectives charged the man, from Kingstanding, with two counts of wounding and possessing offensive weapons, and a further count of wounding on 23 June when it’s alleged he stabbed a man outside Birmingham city centre venue China Red.
Around 20 police officers were called to a disorder at China Red in the early hours of Sunday 23 June where three men suffered stab injuries and a police officer was kicked in the head as he tried to quell the fighting.
A 21-year-old Birmingham man was arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting an officer, whilst a 21-year-old man from Handsworth was also arrested; both remain on police bail.
The 26-year-old stabbing suspect will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court this morning (July 16).
