Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to about an assault which left the victim needing surgery.
The 24-year-old victim was walking in The Wardwick, Derby, when he was involved in a verbal argument with a small group.
He was then punched a number of times and suffered a fractured cheekbone, which needed a metal plate inserting.
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
Officers now want to speak to a man seen on CCTV nearby at the time of the incident, which took place at 11pm on Monday, March 3.
