A MAN will appear at Solihull Magistrates’ court this morning (24 July) charged with attacking a pensioner on a Solihull canal.
The local man will stand accused of assaulting the 71-year-old as she walked her dog along the towpath near to Dene Court Road in Solihull on Monday 22 July.
The Acocks Green woman was threatened by her attacker before being dragged to the floor and assaulted. She was taken to hospital and received treatment for facial injuries.
Her attacker ran away from the scene and a man was found by police hiding in a garden in Castle Lane.
A 24-year-old was arrested on suspicion of robbery and later charged.
