A would-be robber threatened a man with a knife but left empty-handed when the victim refused to hand over his wallet.
The attempted robbery happened in William Street, Derby, at about 4.30pm on Sunday, October 5.
A 37-year-old man was walking along the street when he was approached by the offender and told to hand over his wallet.
He then produced a small ‘Stanley’-type knife but ran off empty-handed after a brief struggle. The victim was not injured in the offence.
The offender was white with a tanned complexion, with short hair, dark stubble, and what were described as acne scars or bumps on his face. He was in his late-20s or early-30s.
Police investigating the robbery want to hear from witnesses or anyone who might recognise the offender from the description.
