A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man’s body was found in a flat in Coventry

Police attended an address in Langlodge Road, Holbrooks, just after 11.30pm on Thursday (12 February) following reports that a man had been stabbed.

On arrival, officers discovered the body of a 44-year-old man who is believed to have died from a knife wound.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder from an address in the Earlsdon area of the city and is currently in police custody.

Detective Inspector Warren Hines is investigating the man’s death. He said: “We have officers at the scene carrying out forensic examinations and we are speaking to local residents to establish exactly what happened.

“Early inquiries lead us to believe the arrested man and the deceased knew each other and that this is an isolated matter.

“Formal identification is yet to take place but the man’s next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

“A post-mortem will take place later today to determine the cause of the man’s death and I would urge anyone who feels they may have information relevant to our investigation to contact me on 101.”

Alternatively, people can also contact the anonymous, independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
