A murder investigation has been launched in Shropshire after the body of a 32-year-old man was found at Army barracks in Tern Hill, near Market Drayton.
A 23-yer-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody at Shrewsbury police station.
The body was found in a building at Clive Barracks just after 9am on Saturday morning (8 March).
Detective Inspector Steve Tonks said today: “We have made an arrest in connection with the death. The investigation is in its early stages and extensive inquiries are continuing.
“A post mortem conducted by a Home Office pathologist was held yesterday and further examination and tests are being carried out to help establish the cause of death”.
He added: “I am appealing for any information which might assist the police investigation. Contact Shrewsbury CID by calling 101 as a matter of urgency”.
The Shropshire coroner Mr John Ellery has been informed.
