A man has been arrested following an early hours pursuit across Birmingham this morning when he tried to out-run traffic cops…in a milk van! Police were alerted at 3.35am to reports of the open-sided delivery van being stolen from outside an address in Hill Street near Birmingham’s New Street station.
Patrol cars spotted the transit van – which was laden with milk and bread – at Camp Hill Circus where it failed to stop for officers and was driven the wrong way along the A45.
It was pursued for several miles before its wheels were punctured with a ‘stinger’ by waiting officers in Small Heath and it ground to a halt in Withdean Close, a cul-de-sac off Golden Hillock Road, where a 28-year-old man was arrested.
